Please join us on Saturday evening (5/18) from 4-6:30pm for the opening of The Persistence of Memory: an exhibition by the CUE Teen Collective. The CUE Teen Collective is a free, after-school program designed for NYC high school students interested in art careers. Participants met from October through May to investigate the contemporary art world and develop professional skills, culminating in this group exhibition in CUE’s gallery space. #CUEart #CUEteens #CUETeenCollective

Amanda Turner Pohan’s work examines the slippage between digital and physical embodiment, using the body’s complicated relationship to technology as source material. Pictured here, a 3D printed hand cast in bronze, modeled after that of Greek muse Calliope and connected to a robotic arm, types out the ololyga - an ancient Greek ritual shout particular to females - as if it is sending a message on a smartphone.
