Are you struggling to translate your creative practice into words? Or avoiding the process of writing and editing your artist statement for your website or an upcoming application? Face your fears at this upcoming workshop, which helps artists and creative practitioners explore how to clearly communicate who they are as creative individuals and the kind of work they produce, to a broad range of audiences.
Artists will learn the components of creating effective personal narratives, tangible tips for keeping their statements updated on a regular basis, modifying statements for different platforms, and more.
Learnings from this workshop can apply to improving applications for grants, fellowships, and residencies; websites; press releases; marketing materials, and more.
This free workshop has been capped at 40 participants and is currently sold out. If you are interested in attending but were unable to reserve a spot, you can now add yourself to the waitlist here. By adding your name to this list you will also be notified when the recording is available to view online.
If you reserved a spot, please join the Zoom on time and be prepared to participate in the full 2-hour workshop. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your order so that we can give the spot to someone else.
The first hour of this event will be live-captioned as well as recorded, captioned, and posted to our website after the event. In the second hour, participants will move to virtual breakout rooms to share their statements and get personalized feedback. This portion will not be recorded.
