Call for Proposals: 2022 Public Programs Fellowship
Deadline: January 10, 2022, 11:59pm EST

CUE is currently accepting applications for our 2022 Public Programming Fellowship. Working closely with CUE staff, the fellow(s) will curate a series of events, talks, and/or workshops to be presented at CUE in 2022. We invite proposals that address timely topics related to visual arts or cultural production. Proposals should further CUE’s mission of supporting emerging and under-recognized artists.

Applications from collaborative teams are accepted. The selected fellow(s) will receive a $2,500 organizer honorarium (if applying as a collaborative, this amount will be split amongst the organizers) and a $2,000 budget to divide amongst participating program speakers, paid at a rate in accordance with CUE’s W.A.G.E. artist fee guidelines. Programming responsibilities include liaising with all event participants, drafting promotional descriptions and outreach materials, coordinating with participants and CUE staff around event production logistics, and hosting events. The fellow(s) will receive administrative and promotional support from CUE staff.

While we are tentatively planning for these events to take place in-person, due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the pandemic we strongly encourage applications from organizers who are flexible to adapting their proposed series between live and digital formats should the need arise.

Past Public Programming Fellowship events include Homoland Security: Come in, Gurl!, organized by Anthony Barroso, Varun Khattar, danilo machado, and Laura Veira-Ramirez (2021); Access/Points: Approaches to Disability Arts, organized by Jeff Kasper (2017-18); Make Some Place: Conversations about people, practice, and creative placemaking, organized by Jordan Dyniewski and perryne lee poy lokhandwala (2016); and If It’s Not Work, It Must be PLAY: Discussions on the state of work in the arts, organized by Cevan Castle (2014-15).

To apply for the program, please submit the following via Submittable by January 10, 2022, 11:59 EST:
+ Proposal outlining concept, breakdown of events, and proposed guest speakers (up to 600 words)
+ CV (maximum 4 pages) and narrative bio (150 words) for all organizers
